Choice
As you would expect, we have one of the most comprehensive ranges of top quality plants and gardening equipment, but we have lots to offer those less keen on gardening too, including an extensive selection of gifts from around the world. Garden furniture, barbecues and many more products to help you enjoy your home and garden.
Garden Sheds
This is the Aladdin's cave of gardening where many of the necessities are found. You will find propagators and seed trays, sophisticated irrigation systems and watering cans, preservative timber treatments and colour wood stains - in essence everything needed to get on with active gardening. Then there is the wealth of useful gardening bits and pieces, the items kept in the shed that you never know when you will run out of. The list is too diverse to mention, but all of them help make gardening so much easier.
If you prefer to plan and contemplate your garden development, there is a particularly fine selection of books, both illustrative and technical, to assist you.
Planterias
The colours, textures and perfumes of plants available today are amazing and represent the essence of gardening pleasure. A selection from the 3,000 different varieties of trees, shrubs, climbers, roses, conifers and herbaceous perennials available from our own nurseries is on display in our planterias. Our superb quality plants are kept in prime condition and all our hardy plants carry a two-year guarantee.
We are aware that sound advice on soil requirements, planting conditions and their preferred location is particularly necessary if the plants are going to really thrive in their new garden. This information is both listed in the 'White Pages' if the Notcutts plant book as well as being carried on our descriptive plant labels. Our staff in the Planteria Advice Centre will be able to explain in more detail should you have any questions.
With more than a century's involvement in gardening, the Company's experience is almost unrivalled and we attach great importance to training our staff to pass on this knowledge. The Planteria layout is designed for simplicity and clarity with 'like' plants in zoned areas and shrubs arranged in alphabetical order. It's particularly useful, we believe, to offer an impulsive topical area where plants in season are displayed in style and colour and association. During the growing season the profusion of colour and perfumes in this area is just a delight.
If you love plants or are curious for the unusual, or have a difficult shady corner that demands attention or simply fancy some colour in a dull border ... it will be a pleasure to help.
Garden Furniture
One of the high points of gardening must be sitting back and relaxing on a fine day, perhaps with friends, enjoying the sheer pleasure of one's own garden. As outdoor living grows in popularity and becomes more sophisticated, it makes sense to think seriously about garden furniture that fits your lifestyle and blends with your garden design. Outdoor furniture should last for many years and to this end we are always focused on quality construction. Within that parameter the choice is extremely wide, encompassing metal, resin and traditional hard wood.
All of our own wooden furniture comes from sustainably managed forest sources. To help with your choice, our furniture departments are arranged in themed areas to show various designs and materials and how they might blend with specific situations. In addition to furniture, the displays feature many design ideas and accessories to make garden living convenient and fun. A small amount of care and planning can make th

Choosing a gift can be a daunting prospect. If you are looking for something interesting and a little different, we understand this very well. Our buyers travel the world constantly searching for tempting ideas. Interest in more stimulating and visually exciting home interiors has gathered pace in recent times and at Notcutts we strive to reflect this. Most of our centres have an area dedicated to gifts where you will find great diversity - from candles, glass and tableware to ceramics, ironwork and small items of decorative furniture. Emphasis is placed on co-ordinating accessories and reflecting current trends in taste and design. Stock is constantly updated and we like to think that Notcutts is a useful place to drop in and browse for the gift that's just right, for yourself as well as your friends.
Quite often a small 'thank you' gift is all that's needed, perhaps with a simple greeting or anniversary card. We believe we can help and of course please ask if you need any assistance. Having helped with your selection, we can wrap it all up for you with our gift wrapping service.
Pet Centres
We offer a comprehensive range of tropical and outside pond fish, and an extensive range of small animals and birds. The aim is to offer pets suitable for children, and therefore no reptiles are sold. Notcutts also follow a policy of only purchasing animals and birds that are captive bred, and are committed to not purchasing animals or birds that have been taken from the wild, or have been imported from abroad.
All animals and fish are fully guaranteed, and a strict code of conduct covering the health and hygiene of the animals is followed within all Pet Centres. All our staff are fully trained, through both a rigorous in-house training programme and study for external qualifications recognized throughout the Pet Centre industry. Our staff come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but all show a love and commitment to animals, which has resulted in our Pet Centres having been voted best "Best Pet Care Centres" by the Pet Care Trust.
Pet Centres are available at Bagshot, Booker, Cambridge, Cranleigh, Norwich, Oxford, Peterborough, St Albans, Solihull, and Staines.
We are members of the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association and abide by their code of conduct.
