We are absolutely delighted with the outcome

Site Description
The house was a traditional farm building set halfway down a sloping garden with a new extension on the back. To accommodate this, the contractors had cut into the slope and left an open face at a height of 1.5m.
The rest of the garden was laid to lawn with specimen trees dotted around.
To the northern side of the garden there was a swimming pool and run of outbuildings which stood overlooking the rest of the garden.
A series of old walls retained levels and divided areas of the garden.
The house felt claustrophobic due to the close proximity of high ground to the east, north and north west aspects.
Design Brief
Design a kitchen garden accessible from the conservatory to provide an area for entertaining and dining as well producing herbs. The style should be traditional making use of box, lavender with an element of an Italianate style.
Materials such as natural stone paving were used to complement the style of the house, together with a combination of gravel and brick.
